Marjorie Lazoff, MD, FACP, Founder and Editorial Consultant

About Dr. Lazoff

  • I am a board certified internist with clinical experience in  academic emergency medicine.
  • As a new ER attending in 1990, I quickly became an early adopter and aficionado of computers in medicine. I helped design physician user interfaces, introduced computer technology into ER quality assurance projects, and wrote physician reviews on medical software products.
  • Years later, I served as editor in chief of Medical Software Reviews, and I founded a non-profit company to help educate physicians on computers---one of the first electronic open access publications, and one of the first to fully adopt traditional editorial practices for its content.
  • Since 2010, I served as deputy editor for Elsevier's and American College of Physician's evidence-based clinical decision support references, and I am currently Director of Content and editor in chief for Consumer Reports/National Physician Alliance's TandemHealth.
  • Nearing retirement, I founded The Healing Red Pen in 2017 so that I might continue my life's work as a full time consultant. I look forward to learning about new projects where I might help others achieve their medical, healthcare, continuing educational or communication goals.
